Arizona Fisher House Organization
The Fisher House Program provides a "home away from home" for families of patients receiving medical care at major military and VA medical centers. These homes
provide free temporary lodging so military and veterans' families can be close to their loved ones during a medical crisis.
In 2011, the Southern Arizona VA Health Care System was approved as the future host site for an Arizona Fisher House serving Arizona veterans and veteran referrals
from other states. Groundbreaking for the new facility in Tucson is proposed for early 2015, with construction estimated to be completed by the end of the year.
