Why did you decide to serve in local government?
When we made the decision to incorporate, I felt an obligation to help get the foundation of our town firmly rooted. Expecting others to step up without being willing to do so myself was not a formula for success.

What are the biggest challenges facing your town today?
Affordable housing or home ownership. Our community has no ownership housing available for anyone other than a few landowners. We all live in company housing and it makes it tough for residents to get involved when they have no firm roots or skin in the game. We are in the process of developing independent and affordable housing as part of our overall development plans.

What opportunities do you see for your community?
I see great opportunity for our community to be one of residents versus employees as affordable housing becomes a reality in the near future. A broadening of the leadership of our town as more people become involved because they have a stake in the community.

What are you most proud of during your time in office?
Helping to create the opportunity for a complete community by getting a town organized and up and running. Our future is bright and it has been great to be a part of the birth of a town.

Why is the League important to cities and towns in Arizona?
The League has insights and the vision of how the legislature can impact our community's ability to be successful in the future. The work they do in watching and keeping municipalities informed about the actions of the State Legislature is critical to every community's success, large or small. The League is always there to help and provide guidance or connections with others when a unique issue comes up.
