Arizona DMV Introduces New Driver License & Identification Card

The Arizona Department of Transportation Motor Vehicle Division is pleased to introduce Arizona's newly redesigned driver license/identification card. Enhanced security features have been incorporated into the DL/ID credential to safeguard personal information and help prevent identity theft.

Customers will receive a temporary credential before leaving an MVD or authorized third party office, and they will receive the permanent credential in the mail within 15 days. The temporary contains a photo and the basic information that appears on the actual credential. It is printed on security paper for added customer protection. The decision to accept the temporary credential as proof of identity exists solely with the organization requesting to see the license or identification card.

These changes take effect June 16.
