Arizona for Afterschool Excellence - School's Out, Make it Count!

Arizona Center for Afterschool Excellence, a statewide advocacy and resource center for out-of-school time programs, recently released School's Out, Make It Count!, a video promoting the benefits of quality out-of-school time programs. The video, available in both English and Spanish, is intended to capture the fun, exciting, and diverse enrichment opportunities offered outside the classroom. The video also highlights the Arizona Afterschool Program Directory, a resource for parents and caregivers to find nearby out-of-school time opportunities for their children.

Each day, over 15 million school-age youth are left on their own after school. Quality out-of-school time programming is the answer to providing youth places to go where they can develop a love for learning, improve academic achievement, develop positive social and emotional skills, and prevent risky behaviors.

Help "make it count" for the youth in your city or town! Watch the video and share it with youth program providers, schools, parents, and community leaders to help spread the message that quality out-of-school time opportunities have an important role to play in preparing youth for college, work and life.
