Felipe Moreno – Bio
Felipe Moreno is a highly respected municipal professional with 24 years of experience in public service. Felipe started with the City of Phoenix in 2000 as a Caseworker in the Human Services Department’s Head Start Program. He was selected to the 2006 Management Intern Program, where he completed rotations in the Budget and Research Department, City Manager’s Office, and Housing Department. In 2007, Felipe joined the Public Works Department as an Administrative Assistant II. Since joining the Public Works Department, Felipe has held positions of Management Assistant II, Deputy Public Works Director, Assistant Public Works Director, and now Public Works Director. As Public Works Director, Felipe oversees a department of 1,100 employees across three lines of business. These include oversight of the City’s fleet that includes 7,800 pieces of equipment, the management of over 880 facilities across 480 locations, and a solid waste utility that provides refuse, recycle, bulk trash and post collection services for over 420,000 customers. Felipe holds a bachelor’s degree in Family ad Consumer Resources from the University of Arizona and a master’s degree in social work from Arizona State University.
