Why did you decide to serve in local government?
Coming from a background of promotions and marketing in the recording industry, the transition into public service via local government began in 1993 in Calabasas, California. Putting citizens first on the issues of importance and community involvement are extremely important to me.

What are the biggest challenges facing your city or town today?
The challenges Bullhead City faces are no different than the challenges facing the 91 members of the league: Continuing the fight for local government control and stopping the sweeps of funds from deserving cities and towns.

What opportunities do you see for your community?
We have seen many improvements on several city projects such as building new ball fields, new roads and improving some of our older, major roads. To achieve that during these economically trying times, our thinking-out-of-the-box to get these done has put many happy faces in our community. Of course, having a great staff producing balanced budgets, and having a hard working council certainly makes my job easier.

What are you most proud of during your time in office?
The annual Bullhead City River Regatta, improvements to our city parks and beaches, our senior nutrition center, repairing several key roads, our new dog park and declaring March 29th as Vietnam Veterans Memorial Day … our annual, long overdue "Welcome Home."

Why is the League important to cities and towns in Arizona?
The answer lies in what they have been able to do during the legislative season. Together, all municipalities heeded the call for action to protect local government.
