Arizona Center for Civic Leadership Accepting Applications for Fall 2012 Flinn-Brown Civic Leadership Academy: Designed for Arizonans in both private and public-sectors, the Academy provides better understanding of policy issues and strengthens leadership skills. The 12 day program includes presentations by leaders and experts and offers practical skills necessary to be an effective civic leader. Applications are due May 10, 2012. Address Confidentiality Program (ACP):
The Role and Responsibility of Cities and Towns in Arizona


Location: The League of Arizona Cities and Towns
Time: 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.

The League, in conjunction with the Arizona Municipal Clerks' Association, will host a training on the Address Confidentiality Program (ACP). This program was passed into law in 2011 to provide assistance to survivors of domestic violence, sexual offenses and stalking. This newly created program will be administered by the Secretary of State's Office.

Betty McEntire, executive director of the Address Confidentiality Program, will provide a general overview of ACP, what the participants and agencies (state and local) are required to do for law compliance, and discuss the processes when interacting with ACP participants.

Last year, the Legislature passed a major rewrite of the state statutes on municipal impact fees. One year later, some of the key implementation dates of the bill have passed, but there are more deadlines ahead and more work to do. New CIP/IIPs need to be developed and fee studies completed. Meanwhile, questions have come up about the use of funds from impact fee categories that are no longer allowed, limitations on parks and libraries, and the payment of debt
