Why did you decide to serve in local government?
I decided to serve in local government because I have always liked to serve the community and the citizens.

What are the biggest challenges facing your city or town today?
The biggest challenge facing the city is the economy and the related reduction in revenue and jobs. This was made even more difficult by the state continuing to sweep local funds for their own budget purposes. We are also aware that we have retail revenue leakage to surrounding cities and county islands and are working towards reducing that problem.

What opportunities do you see for your community?
Opportunities for our community lie with the development of state land within and directly adjacent to the city limits. Development of this land will expand our growth and bring new opportunities for retail, industrial, commercial and residential development.

What are you most proud of during your time in office?
For my time in office, I am most proud of our new city hall complex, the new multi-generation center and the expansion of our public library.

Why is the League important to cities and towns in Arizona?
The League acts as our bridge with other municipalities and state government. The unity and organization provided by the League gives us all a larger voice. We cannot do it alone.
